Bad.... Bad Blogger

I haven't kept up! I've been pretty busy. I've finished 7 5K races now and my 8th will be Saturday. My average is around 36 minutes currently but have finished a race as fast as 35:50
I'm currently 2 pounds shy of a 60 pound loss! I'm actually selling Herbalife now which is what helped me loose it all.
We're gearing up for Christmas around here.

Squirt wants Stinky the Garbage Truck and a Criss Cross Smash Hot Wheels Track.

Santa's on a budget this year, so he's not getting both.

Fall colors.... more than just leaves

Fall colors in Oklahoma are found in more places than leaves the fall from the trees to the ground. Nothing beats a cool Fall Oklahoma sunset. I actually sat my butt down in the middle of a county road near my parents house to get all the clouds in the shots. I really wish there wasn't so many power/telephone lines hanging everywhere but I am pretty partial to having electricity, sure makes life easier.
I'm still running and loosing and am beginning to maybe perhaps like running..... MAYBE. I like being done! I feel I've actually accomplished something. I'm a bit frustrated that I am as slow as I am. I did improve my time from my first 5K to my second by 5 minutes but I'm stuck at my current pace. I've another 5K this weekend and the Big Tulsa Run the weekend following.
I'm shooting more portrait photography now. I'm still shooting action and event photography with Snap Shot Moms. We have a Face Book Fan Page, if you haven't already found it.
I've started a website for Kristy Troyer Photography and a Face Book Fan Page. Please share these links with your family and friends.
The leaves will be peaking in Northeast Oklahoma in the next few weeks. I have openings for a few weekends between now and Thanksgiving. This is a perfect time for Christmas Card portraits! You can email me to schedule your appointment!

Outhouse Races and Fireman's Muster

In the County I live in there is Chouteau, Oklahoma and Salina, Oklahoma. Salina, Oklahoma was founded by Jean Pierre Chouteau as a trading post next to the Grand Neosho River. Because of this fact, Chouteau Day is held annually in Salina, Oklahoma. This year's festivities included Outhouse Races and a Fireman's Muster among other things. I missed the Outhouse Races because I was running a 5K elsewhere.

The Outhouses were in the parade and I'm guessing they got points for creativity too.

It was hot and my son was getting restless so we left before the hose wrangling :(

Battle of the Stripes - Pryor vs Claremore

This past Friday night I got to shoot my hometown high school AND I DID NOT have to keep stats! This was a big historic rival when I was in school. The rival goes way back and for about 6 years now they were in two different classes and hadn't played each other. Claremore went down a class and Pryor hosted the renewed rival this year. The Battle of Highway 20 or The Battle of the Stripes - Tigers vs Zebras.

The best part was Pryor WON!!!!

First 5K Completed

I completed my first 5K earlier in September. I was able to jog the whole way and finish in under my goal. I finished 43:38. It was a great feeling to cross the finish line! I have several more on my calendar that I want to run in. I'm not fast, I'm not entering the 5K's to earn medals, I'm doing it to loose weight and become healthy.
I'm currently just under 40 pounds down.
Many have asked how I've lost.
I started my journey earlier this year. A journey I've wanted to begin for some time. This road had to be started with more than want or desire. I had to care and be driven and determined to succeed.
In late May I began an attempt to loos weight. I've been down that road before a few times in my life. I've spent a majority of my life overweight. It never mattered my size, I was always comfortable in my own skin.
This time I had the want. I began to care and I knew I deserved to be healthier. So the journey began.
I told myself I'd start with diet. I found an avenue to help myself and help my church at the same time. A member sells Herbalife and she was starting a weight loss challenge to help fund a new building.
I went into the deal cautiously optimistic. I told myself if I lost 20 pounds, I'd see about some sort of exercise plan. Many of my friends and photography networking buddies were working a couch to 5K (C25K) program. I kept thinking it's free and seemed simple enough but it was running, and I didn't much care for running.
July came and I had shed those 20 pounds and then some, so I bit the bullet and started running. My phone and had an app that would tell me when to walk and when to jog and when the workout was over, all while listening to music I had chosen. This allowed me to walk/run without thinking much about it.
I started during the hottest part of the year. In the beginning I could barely jog for 60 seconds. I played games with my mind and pushed through and kept going with the program. I've worked hard since then.
I haven't lost as much as I've liked but it's still coming off. I'm VERY close to 40 pounds. Weigh in is today and I really hope that middle number moves down again. I've lost two (nearly 3) pant sizes and two shirt sizes.
My first 5K was at the beginning of September. I told myself I'd be happy to finish without walking more than 1/2 mile and complete the 3.1 miles in under 45 minutes. I jogged the entire way and finished in 43:38! My pace is slow, but its a pace I can do! My next is this Saturday.
Currently my biggest struggle is food intake and making sure I'm eating ENOUGH on the days I run. Over the last few months I've adjusted to a diet within my calorie range to loose. However, with increased exercise, I have to increase calorie intake as well so my body doesn't go into starvation mode. I never thought I'd have the challenge of not eating enough. I've had to return to a detailed food journal to make sure I'm eating enough of what I should.
Herbalife got me started and is helping me continue to loose. I'm working to be able to sell as well, so if you're interested, I can help!

First day of school!!

Squirt had a good time yesterday on his first day of full-day K4. Glad he had a good time.... It was pretty rough on Momma!

I helped him get his tray for breakfast then just left! I felt like I was abandoning him, but he didn't think so. "I'll be fine Momma!" Dang it can't you cling just a little bit?? I'm really glad he's independent and can handle stuff like yesterday, just wish I had a little easier time. My baby's growing up!

200+ MPH

That's way to fast for me on land, not to mention the water. But I enjoyed watching those that do enjoy going that fast on the water!I watched a very bad wreck but I understand doing what you love knowing the risks and all. Some boats were in slower classes than others. The fastest class went in excess of 200 mph. The wreck happened at 217 mph. CRAZY!

These were some of the faster classes of boats. I took A LOT of photos that day. It was hot and sweaty that day too. I wish I could have seen the finals on Sunday. My cousin-in-law won the second chance class. Congrats!

Balloons

Despite having a pretty big day of back to school shopping and the water park. Squirt and I made a trip to see the balloon glow. I thought it was pretty neat. I think Squirt liked it too.

Squirt wanted to ride.... I said NO!

An afternoon at the Aquarium

We had the opportunity to visit the Aquarium this summer. We went with Great-Grandma, Great-Papa, Just Grandma, and Just Papa along with an aunt and cousin. We had a good time and saw lots of neat things.
Squirt liked the sharks and had his face glued to the glass.

I liked the way the jelly fish photos came out! The lighting was really weird throughout the Aquarium.

We watched them scuba to feed the fish. The windows made pretty crazy angles.

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for ICE CREAM!

Perfect end to a HOT summer day! I had to scrub, the boy, the clothes AND the porch after he was done!
